Hello munafa1,

I have tested the bulk export import extension on our own OpenCart installation. I have not experienced any issues with importing, even after changing the data in the file. The error leads me to think the OpenCart has issue with either the format of the file, which should be XLSX, or that the formatting of one or more of the columns is incorrect.

I was able to cause the error, but only after intentionally changing the save format of the file.. Changing it back to xls/xlsx allowed it to be imported properly. Be sure that the saved file you are uploading is indeed XLSX. And if that is the case, you will want to check the columns to ensure that they are either numeric, text, or datetime as the original file exported.

I apologize for being so general, but without a test file to review, I am unable to pinpoint an exact cause. You may feel free to send a copy of the import file to us at docs@inmotionhosting.com and I will be happy to test that file with our setup. If you send the file, please leave a comment below so that we know the data was sent, as we do not actively monitor that email address.

Best Regards,
Scott M

Hello munafa1,

I have traced the error to the products and categories tabs in the import file. The categories tab is simply a copy of the products tab, so none of the data will match when you attempt to import. This tab in particular is causing the error you are receiving. The products tab is severely out of order and will not import data to the proper columns due to out of sync data types and column location.

For example, the product ID "MED-001" is invalid as it involves text, whereas the column in oc_product is expecting numeric data. I am not sure where the data came from, or if it was changes after an export, but as it is, it will not import into the OpenCart database.

Best Regards,
Scott M

Hello Munafa1,

I was able to review the XLSX file that you sent. Based on what I saw in the spreadsheet, the problem was identified in Scott's previous reply. The data that you are importing does not MATCH with the OpenCart table variables' format. The main example that Scott gave in the reply above was your product ID. You can easily see, that if you look at your spreadsheet that ALL of your product IDs have text. You will need to change the values of the data you are importing in order to make it acceptable to the OpenCart database. All of the variables in your spreadsheet need to match the OpenCart table format, otherwise, it will not work. If you have any further questions on importing, please refer our documentation on using the bulk export/import extension in OpenCart.

If you have any further questions, please leave a comment with more details and and we will be happy to review the issue for you. If we answered your question and it's a great solution for you, please make sure to mark the answer as the BEST answer. Or please leave a comment or note of thanks so that we know your issue is resolved or ongoing.

Hello Munafa,

I'm sorry to hear about the error that you are receiving during your import. The error message that you are having is not related to a max limit on the import/export tool. The error message indicates that there is something wrong with the data. Again, as per our earlier messages, the error is occurring due to a mismatch in the data that is being imported. At least, that is what the current error indicates. You may need to check the product data again to make sure it complies with the format required by the OpenCart tables. Also, please be aware, that there are OTHER extensions that you an purchase for transferring your data. This is an example of one: Host Jars import solutions. Although this is a paid solution, I have been told that it also works better with higher numbers of product in your inventory.

Please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Hi. I had the same error. Data image must only use alphabet and number. Remove those which contain other than alphabet and number. That solved mine.
