Upgrading from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5 without losing site information

I have an active, Joomla 1.5 site that I now want to upgrade to Joomla 2.5

I cannot seem to find any clear instructions how to do this without losing site information

I have a link right here directly from Joomla on how to migrate from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5. This is the best information on the subject.
