Add two modules position next to eachover in Joomla 2.5 Beez template

Hi, I would like to add two modules positions next to eachover on the same line before position-1 in the beez 20 template.
I've modify my index.php and templateDetails.xml but my 2 modules are one after the other on 2 lines.
How can I set up 2 modules (one left, one right) like position-7 and -12 ?
