htaccess: allow access to file in password protected directory?
Category: How To
I am running WordPress, and have password protected /wp-admin/ using cPanel. I was trying to allow access to the admin-ajax.php file, but I wasn't able to get it to work. I tried adding this to the .htaccess file in /wp-admin/, but admin-ajax still asked for a password.

Why won't this work?

Hello jdgrimes, I inserted your code, unmodified, into the .htaccess in the wp-admin folder and it is working without issue. Please let us know if you are having any further issues with it. Best Regards, Scott M |
