forms not working
Category: How To
Since I transfered to inmotionhosting my html forms don't work. I recently aquired a laser engraver to personalize my customers purchases so I need to get my forms working again. I wrote them in html some years back but I guess I need some php code in there and MySQL stuff. How can I learn how to do that?

Hello Alleycat, I took a look at your files and I'm hoping that I might pinpointed the problem you're having. HTML forms should work with no issue, but one thing to note is that the server is now both case-sensitive and might be having a problem with the way you named several of the forms (they have blanks). For example, if you're calling the file in an html file and the file name in the call is all in lower case, then the file will not be found. Make sure that any references to the forms are using the names as the form is saved (you might need to re-name the file). If it's not, then if you could give us an example for the problem that you're having we can take a closer look. Regarding the PHP Coding/MySQL tutorials, you may want to try going to W3 Schools as they have a large number of tutorials that can help provide the information you seek. If you have any further questions, please contact technical support or leave a comment at the bottom of the page. Regards, Arnel C. |

Ok, so I just spent a half day trying to figure this one out. After much time on chat with InMotion and GoDaddy, I figured it out myself. Why don't support people know these simple things? I have no clue. I recently began moving all of my sites to InMotion for the speed of their servers. I noticed after moving many of my sites (Joomla! platform) that the mail forms stopped working. The mailbox was working fine and everything worked fine on the GoDaddy servers. Here was the fix: Go to WHM and select Edit MX Entry. Select the domain name you want to edit and add the go daddy MX server names. 0, smtp.secureserver.net; 10, mailstore1.secureserver.net That's it. Now the forms are working. One final thing. This didn't do the trick for my html forms. Those still don't work. Here's the form that still doesn't work: http://painmanagementcentersofnc.com/cpi-form.html I'm sure I will have to figure this one out myself also. Jason |
