[Original question] Can I host a subdomain with inmotion but have the main url CNamed to aother place?

I have a website It is Cnamed to mask my Smugmug site This allows it to appear it's a regular website and everything after the .com looks normal.

However. I'd like to add a blog to the site, eg I've done this with my Godaddy service but since migrating things away from them I haven't been able to figure out how to set it up.

Please advise. Thanks!

I've added the subdomain but everytime I go to install wordpress I get a message saying the database couldn't be setup.

Hello Jo-eIM,

Thanks for the questions! Your main question asks about setting up a subdomain as a blog website. The answer to that question is, "yes, you can." The reason you currently can't setup the database has to do with ongoing issues with the server. Our systems team has identified a hardware issue that they have been working to resolve as soon as possible. Check out: Server Status- InMotion Hosting. We unfortunately can't give an ETA as it's very difficult to give an exact ETA of when services will be restored. They are working as fast as they can to restore it.

Apologies again for the interruption in service. Please check with the server status page and let us know if you have any further questions or comments.

Hello Jo-eIM,

Sorry again for the server issues. Systems has identified the issue and they are applying the fix. However, restoring the services will take a little time. Please review the page in order to see the most recent actions and update on the server.

Apologies again for the service interruption.
