Is there a firewall exception to add, to open a port on a linux server?
Category: General Server Setup
I installed VistA CPRS client on my laptop and I'm attempting to connect to VistA Electronic Health Record on my linux server. I already created an script for the service in /etc/xinetd.d directory (the service enables a port (9310) to be listening)
Using netstat command, the port 9310 appears to be listening and after I run CPRS on my computer, an established connection appears from my IP to the servers IP on port 9310. But after a while the client sends a timedout error and the conection is closed.
Thanks for you help, Jacob.

Hello Jacob, I am unable to locate your account so that I can test that for you on your server. This is likely a port that can be opened only on VPS or dedicated servers. If you have one of those types of accounts, we can certainly check to make sure it is open or open it for you. To do so, you would need to contact our support department (open 24/7) with that request. Be sure to validate your account with either the last 4 digits of the credit card on file, or the current Account Management Panel (AMP) password. Best Regards, Scott M |
