Question Asked by a1ph4g33k
Can I use the LUA scripting language on a shared hosting package?
Best Answer not yet chosen
I am considering using Lua for CGI scripting. Is it possible to get Lua ( preferrably LuaJIT ) installed in a location where I can use it from my sites?
I would download and compile for myself, but we don't get shell access.
I look forward to your response.

Hi AG,
Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you. I've looked over the documentation for Lua and LuaJIT, and we cannot install this on a shared server. It appears through the Linux commands the installation guides provide, you could install this on a VPS or higher hosting package. However, before upgrading I'd suggest contacting our Systems Administrators so they can evaluate Lua and recommend the best hosting package for your needs.
If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us.
Thanks!
