It appears I will have to add a second email account then forward one to the other. But the documentation says I will end up with 2 copies of the email, one in each account. That means the account I'm not checking will fill up. is our salesman. He has his own account. should forward to him without the entries in the sales mailbox accumulatine. How do I do this?

Hi Pointyhair,

Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you. If you want all the emails to forward from the to, you can delete the email account in cPanel. Then set up the forwarder to forward all the emails from to

Since the email is only being forwarded and never actually reaches the sales account, it will not store them. It will forward them over without leaving a copy at since it doesn't exist.

I hope this helps! If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us.

It wasn't clear to me that the must be a true mailbox for this to work. On other platforms, setting up an alias does not require a mailbox for the forwarder, only for the forwardee. Tim's answer is correct, but it could have been made more obvious if it said " must be a mailbox for this to work".

Upon closer reading of Tim's response, I should correct my own previous comment... Tim says "you can delete", but I could not get forwarding to work unless the forwarder had a true mailbox account. So it seems to me that a forwarding alias will only work if that address has a mailbox.
