In File Manager, I keep finding new files created in public_html with a name like .wysiwygPro_preview.....
What is their point?
Can I delete them?
Can I inhibit their creation?

Hi nonstop,

Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you today. Those files you referenced are created when you use the HTML editor in file manager to preview your website. Typically, they are only temporary and you can delete them.
