We recently got a credit card merchant account that allows us to upload a background image to be used on their website for our payment page. No matter what folder we upload our image to though through the file manager on our cPanel, the URL starts out with ftp//: which constantly prompts visitors to that credit card payment page to enter our username and password. Where can we upload this image file in our cPanel so that it starts with http:// instead of ftp:// so that it can be used as a background image on this credit card payment site?

Hello beijingjeff,

Although you do want to make sure the file is in a public web folder such as your public_html or other root folder for the domain, the location of the folder will not have any affect on whether ftp:// or http:// is used. Unless you specify ftp:// in the calling link, it will http:// by default unless it is overridden by another script or program you are using.

I hope this answers your question. Feel free to provide more details by commenting below if it does not or if you have further questions about the issue.

Thanks!
