Recently sending my newsletter has become impossible. I used to be able to send a monthly newsletter to 1000 emails quite fast but recently it takes about 20 - 25 seconds per email.
I do set limits not to go over the hourly quota. So I would send batches of 50 emails with a 2 minute wait up to 500 emails and then wait an hour before sending the rest.
I use smtp settings using my hosting account username and password in acymailing (joomla component). Has something changed?
I did a test on a new install ad found that if im sending to email addresses that belong to my hosting account the send process works great. If the email addresses belong elsewhere like a gmail account or yahoo, then there is a long delay before the email is finally sent. If i don't set the smtp settings correctly the email still gets sent out but the below error shows up. Also the email problem has created another problem with my website. Any action that happens on my website that sends an email out to users is also effected with a long delay. For example I have set my site to email me whenever someone successfully logs into the administration section of my site, lately it takes about 25 seconds to log in. Also another example when a user posts to my forum from the front end it also has about a 20-30 second delay.

Thank you for your question. We are happy to assist, but we will need more information to provide a full answer, such as a specific From and To address.

Thank you for your reply. I have just been talking to live help support and we came to the conclusion that 15 seconds between emails is the norm for my shared hosting plan. I must include I used to be able to send 40 emails in one second and now its 1 email per 20 seconds. The shared hosting plan is no where near as good as it used to be im sorry to say.
