Outlook 2011 (Mac) Outgoing Mail Authentication Fails
We setup Outlook 2011 on a Mac and everything was working - we were able to send and receive e-mails. Now, an hour later, it will still receive but will not send. It has an authentication error. We double checked all out settings, but it still won't send. The e-mail address is email@example.com
I do see email authentication errors in the mail logs, but these appear to be for IMAP which handles incoming mail. It appears that there have been around 7 IP addresses that are failing authentication, and 2 which are successfully logging in. It also looks like 1 of the 2 that were successfully logging in also had authentication errors as well.
I also see some SMTP authentication errors as well, so ensure that you've reviewed the steps in our <a href="http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/email/email-troubleshooting/problems-sending-mail-receiving-is-fine" target="_blank">problems sending mail while receiving is fine</a> article, and made sure that <strong>SMTP authentication</strong> is turned on in Outlook for you.
