I am starting to get a few of these emails everyday now and its driving me nuts, usually from bogus bank emails saying you need to read this attached pdf file which turns out to be a virus .exe file inside a zip file.
Any ideas?, Am I the only one getting these??

Your best defense against spam emails is Spamassassin. Setting it up will greatly reduce the amount of spam that is within your inbox. In addition to Spamassassin, you could also set up email filters that automatically removes emails if they match a particular pattern.

Thanks for the quick reply Jeff,
So how would I go about setting up a filter to stop zip files containing .exe files?
I had a quick look and found nothing about filtering attachments.

Hello john64,

By default, any ".exe" email attachment is blocked from our server, but it will not block "zipped" files.

On a VPS or Dedicated server, we can install clamAV, which will scan and block archived/zipped files.

The rules Jeff mentioned earlier are User/Account level filters, but unfortunately, they will not scan zipped attachments.

You can also use Gmail as an email client to check emails on your server, which will allow you to utilize their spam filtering service..

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.
Thank you,
