changing the nameserver and email
Category: Email
I am changing the hosting for a client's site to InMotion. I am not transferring the domain, so I will change the nameserver to point to InMotion. They are currently using Outlook with POP3 type email. What information do I need from the client to make sure they have minimal email interruptions?

Hello NJMdesign, As long as you have already created the same email accounts on our servers, then the mail will not have any interruptions when the nameservers change over. This assumes that there are no custom MX record settings. If there are custom MX records settings, they will also need to be set on the server here prior to changing the nameservers to avoid any interruptions. I hope this answers your question. If you have any more questions or information specific to the issue please leave a comment below so we can further assist you. Best Regards, Scott M |
