I have followed your tutorial here: http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/dreamweaver/dreamweaver-cs5-how-to-configure-server-settings

for setting up DW but can't establish a connection. I wonder if a support agent can share my screen with me to help me set this up? I've also tried creating another FTP account in cPanel but that doesn't seem to work either.

I found the Admin details in my AMP and learned that the FTP username isn't the same as my inmotion user name - it's the username within the Admin details of the AMP

Hello robcnz,

Glad you found those details. As you mentioned your FTP settings for the FTP username should be the same as your cPanel login, instead of your AMP login which would be an email address.

If you're still having any problems at all please let us know.

While we would not be able to view your exact settings on your computer, feel free to provide us with them. Could you provide us with what you have listed in the following fields?

Server Name:
Connect using:
FTP Address:
Username:
Root Directory:
Web URL:

While I will not request your password as this is a public forum, be sure that it is correct as well. If you are unsure of your cPanel password, you may always reset it via the following instructions:

How to Change your cPanel Password

You must login before you can post a comment about this answer.

Server Name: learningarchitects.com
Connect using: ftp
FTP Address: ftp.learningarchitects.com
Username: learni67
Root Directory: public_html/
Web URL: http://learningarchitects.com/

...with the correct password. My mistake was to use my AMP login username (robcnz@gmail.com), RATHER than the ftp username

Hello robcnz,

It looks like according to the FTP logs on the server you're successfully logging into the server now. I see that some files were downloaded seemingly without issues.

However it did appear after those files were downloaded your FTP user was having issues changing directories.

Are you still having any issues at all?

Hello robcnz,

No problem at all. Not a MAMP expert by any means but if you run into any snags let us know!
