Limit on number of database tables?

I am only able to make 480 tables even though MySQL supports more than this. Does InMotion Hosting enforce its own limit?

We do not impose a limit on the number of tables you can have within a database. 480 tables seem to be well within the limits of MySQL. What is the exact error message you are getting?
