I just setup a subdomain on my account a few days ago. I want to use the subdomain to upload clients sites so they can view them as i work on them. i called my subdomain test and cpanel created a subdirectory in my files called test. When i uploaded a test site there I could only view home page(index.html). When i clicked on other links it says file can't be found, it was looking for file at subdomain/test. I got on support chat yesterday and the guy made a file under the main test subdirectory called test. This worked for the first link. Each successive link added another test file to the url e.g.; subdomain/test/test/test and so on. What do i need to do with the file structure for the subdomain for clients to view their sites. I was under the impression that if I uploaded a site to the test subdirectory for the subdomain it would read file names such as about.html when the link for about.html was clicked, but this is not what happened.

Hello MtnBeachBum,

As the test subbfolder is currently empty, I cannot see how the code is structured for the links. When properly coded, you can place all files under the test subfolder (index.html, about.html, etc) and not have to keep adding other subfolders underneath to reach them.

I would be happy to check any html source code to see how it was written to advise further. You can upload the files and then comment below so I can take a look if you like.

I hope this answers your question. If you have any more questions or information specific to the issue please leave a comment below so we can further assist you.

Best Regards,
Scott M
