Remove https from server

I have cancelled my SSL cert, my website still has the https in the pages and so they will not show they have a Peer Support Cert error message, I am in my cpanel now where do I go to remove the https ?

Hello,

Thank you for your question. There is no need to remove the SSL, just stop connecting over the https:// address. How this is accomplished depends on your website:

For example if you are using Wordpress, you would change the URL from:
https://example.com

To: http://example.com

If you are forcing SSL with your .htaccess file, just remove the rules you added.

If I install SSL on the server for my website, but do not do the redirect to HTTPS am I right in assuming I can access the pages using HTTPS prefix to test for any insecure/mixed content etc. and fix it before forcing all traffic to use HTTPS? And in the meantime, all HTTP traffic will see the site same as before I installed SSL?
