So, here’s how it goes.
I have the opportunity to provide people with the tools they need to establish an on-line business, create a personal blog or set up an informational site from topics that range from Llama breeding farms to a gentleman wanting to share his passion for pigeon racing.
I serve as an educator of sorts; explaining the options in web hosting platforms and helping the client decide, based on expected traffic and the tools that will be provided on the website, whether they need a shared, virtual private or dedicated server. Whether it is through a chat, phone call or email inquiry, it is very rewarding to know that I’m helping connect people with their desired web audience.
When I first started working here, I had a customer that had just started building her site. She had decided to go with another hosting company to start, but quickly realized the lack of support. She had more questions than anyone I thought could have about hosting. By the end of the conversation she had signed up and had taught me just as much as I had taught her.
While I’m a part of an awesome hosting sales team, there are other cool associates in the department that interact directly with our customers on the design and infrastructure of their site. It can be sort of like passing a baton. The web design sales representatives know that the customer has the foundation to host the site already in place. Their focus is on discussing design elements, web site structure, e-commerce needs; simply the look, feel, and how everything will work. One of the most exciting elements for the website team is also the ability to assist customers with assuring not only that they have a good looking site but that it can be found. Consulting on optimization places direct focus on the goal of any site, which is to be found.
In this role our compensation is not set. Our structure is base plus commission, without a cap on commission. So our salary is not predefined. My individual performance is aligned with my paycheck. I get to wear jeans every day, have access to benefits, including a 401k plan after 90 days, and have access to free snacks and a free weekly lunch. Oh, I get to wear jeans every day. Or did I say that already?
Opps. I think I got off track. What I wanted to let you know as well is, we’re looking for some other team members to join us. If you are technically savvy, have great communication skills and like being in the driver’s seat of your compensation then forward us your resume so we can learn more about you. The sales team, which is based in Virginia Beach deals with clients around the world. So whether you’re interested in a “9 to 5” or a “non-traditional schedule”, we have opportunities for you.
Interested? Go for It. Oh, I almost forgot, during this recruiting time, if you’re identified to join our team you will be provided with a sign on bonus and relocation assistance if you need it.
Ok, now, go for it.
