Then we have the job for you! But we are not looking for your standard Corporate IT Technician. We are seeking a candidate who truly enjoys IT and assisting/training others amidst all of the technical pieces.

InMotion Hosting is a growing web hosting company based in California with offices in Los Angeles and Virginia Beach, Virginia. We provide shared, VPS, and dedicated hosting to a wide variety of customers with growing network of over 1200 Linux servers and even (sadly) one or two Windows machines.

What Will I Do?

  • Administer end-user workstations and support end-user activities; responsible for setting up/removing access for associates.
  • Investigate user problems and identify their source; determine possible solutions; tests and implements solutions.
  • Install, configure and maintain desktops, file servers, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices and systems; add or upgrade and configure disk drives, printers and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot networks, systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
  • Maintain company supported applications; software and systems such as websites, CRM, Phone, etc. Assures customer objectives are met and software and systems are operating properly.
  • Develop and conduct various training and instruction for system users on operating systems and other applications; assists users in maximizing use of networks and computing systems.
  • Assist with external customer interfacing processes as needed.
  • May provide computer orientation to new and existing company staff.

Do You Have What It Takes?

  • 1-2 years of networking experience or equivalent applicable experience.
  • 1-2 years in a help desk environment; experience prioritizing and resolving escalations from other associates required.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting ability and critical thinking skills, ability to continue to evaluate situations and react appropriately under stress required.
  • LAMP stack experience.  Windows/desktop support knowledge.
  • Experience with routers/switches.  Ability to install, configure and maintain personal computers, networks and related hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures and techniques.  Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operations problems. Ability to troubleshoot PC hardware/printers at the component level.
